Dear Gordon Thank you for your prompt reply and your interest in "Aerial Genealogy". It might be an idea to carry out a test project and place the results on your website. We could then refer to this in the Donegal Family History email lists, which are viewed by thousands of County Donegal, County Derry and County Tyrone family historians around the world. The response to this would provide an indication of how interested the listers would be in having photographs taken by powered paraglider pilots. Test Project "My paternal grandfather William Martin was married to Bridget McSheffrey (b 1865) whose father, William McSheffrey (McSheffry) is listed in the 1857 Griffiths Valuation as "Mc Sheaffry William, Gortnaskea, Fahan Upper, Donegal (1857) Lessor Peter Maxwell Plot 24" Referring to the OS or Discovery Series Sheet 07, William's plot of land lies North of the Burnfoot to Muff R238 route. Should a paraglider fly West to East along the road North of the R238 (the lesser Burnfoot to Churchtown Road) he/she would overfly the McSheffrey plot of land between the North boundry of the Birdstown Demesne and the Burnfoot to Churchtown Road. I am sure such a project would generate great interest in the genealogy community." I have just watched the TV program about the paraglider pilots two flew around Mount Everest - very hairy! Happy Easter and best regards for now Liam Martin "A bird in the bush is worth two in the cat" ----- Original Message ----- From: Gordon Dunn To: 'Liam Martin' Sent: Monday, March 24, 2008 11:12 PM Subject: RE: Aerial Genealogy I'd be very interested to hear if anyone has any specific areas that they would like photographed. There is a network of powered paraglider pilots in the country, and we should be able to cover requests for a lot of areas. Periodically I place images in my Picasa web album- http://picasaweb.google.com/Pelgis Latest update was today- pictures of Rossnowlagh beach, Co.Donegal. Regards GD
