    3. Hi Maureen, Civil registration for all events started in 1864. For non-Catholic marriages, civil registration started in 1845. Be aware that very few who were born in the early-mid 1800s knew their date of birth or age. If you go looking for a birth registration using age at death (given on a death registration) allow a generous error bound on the year of birth. All the registrations survive.     3. Hi Norman, many thanks for that tip, I have been trying so hard to find death and marriage dates for my crowd. I have been trying to track it by going through the Griffith Valuations for that period, but when I finally found the page where my ggrandmother was crossed off, there was no dates on the page to identify when it happened. The search has only just begun really, so it looks like more searching. I will probably try for deaths and marriages for Gweedore in two year groups.
