    2. Hi Laurie, My Thompsons lived in Rasharkin, Co Antrim, which is 70 miles from Raphoe so no connection. You know, Thompson is a very common name in Ulster so most will not be realted - at least in recent times. Help please. Jackie, I have never been quite sure who you mean by the Raphoe Archivist. Does Father McGettigan not have access to the records himself? And are these years missing in the sense of stolen or why are such recent records not in the church like they are in every other local church? If they are not in the church, then how could they be with Donegal Ancestry which collected its database directly from the local churches not that long ago? And if there are no records at all in Raphoe, why are they not in PRONI? Or is it only these years which are missing? Or am I missing something? Anyway, whatever, I believe I did offer to go to Raphoe and ask directly, as I became quite fascinated by your musical family when we corresponded last year. The offer still holds. Help please. Hello Listers, Does anyone know where the records are held of the baptisms 1925 to 1934 of St Eunan's Church Raphoe? I've writen to the Raphoe Archivist and been informed that they do not hold the records, they have suggested trying Donegal Ancestry but I'm told that they are very expensive to commission. 2. Eva Doherty Gremmert
    3. We are holding a 10 day clann gathering this July 1 - 10 in Derry City and Inishowen. Our website is www.odochartaighreunion.com This year's schedule: In addition to the events to interest visitors, we decided to add a couple of days devoted to genealogy also. You can find the schedule on our website, but here is a short list: Opening Banquet in Derry, Derry City Museums and Wall Tours West Co. Donegal Bus Tour Ulster American Folk Park Carndonagh Play Historical and Genealogy Workshops Medieval Banquet Grianan of Aileach Golf at Ballyliffin Irish Cultural Classes Knitting Basic Celtic Art Playing Tin Whistle Beginning Irish Language Basic Irish Genealogy Computerized Genealogy Northern Ireland Bus Tour Traditional Music & Ceili Closing Banquet and Dance History of our O'Dochartaigh Clann reunions: There was a small group of energetic and visionary individuals living in Ireland in the early 1980's, who began to dream of a worldwide reunion welcoming anyone connected to the O'Dochartaigh name to come to Ireland. This idea has been a resounding success from the first one held in 1985, with each one building on the shoulders of the ones before. Over time there were various efforts at reunions after the 1985 reunion. Meetings were held and every 5 years a gathering was organized. The Reunion Committee is an independent volunteer organization with the objective to plan, organize and implement the World-wide O'Dochartaigh Clann Reunion events. Original committee members Paddy Bogside and James Doherty are still active on the committee. The reunions have been held every 5 years from 1985 until the recent one in 2005. The Reunion Committee then decided to break with tradition and hold this next one in 2008 to commemorate the death of the last Irish chieftain, our own Cahir Rua O'Doherty. He was killed the 5th of July 1608. So to honor him as well as have a great time, we will gather together next July. In 2005 we had over 400 individuals who came from 10 different countries and 39 US states. We had a wonderful experience of sharing our common heritage and forging lasting friendships. The internet is a great tool to share information and ideas easily, please help us spread the word. Forward this e-mail on to anyone that might be interested in knowing about our reunions. Thank you, Eva Doherty Gremmert Worldwide O'Dochartaigh Reunion Coordinator egremmert@comcast.net

    1. Re: [IRL-CO-DONEGAL] Address for Griffith's Valuation AND OS Maps Online!!
    2. I could not get access either. I am hoping that you are wrong about its not being accessible except at library. I doubt that they would do that but they may have had to pull it because it was there for testing and we were more than likely challenging their test results big time! I am going to remain optomistic about its future availability at the same time I wish I had done an allnighter to get more while the going was good. Oh well. I don't think that going on 70 year olds are supposed to do allnighters anyway. Judy In a message dated 4/24/2008 2:27:53 A.M.
