    1. Re: [DONEGAL] Website updateGive us the volunteers!!!
    2. Pat Connors, If you actually know of LOOKUP VOLLUNTEERS, and ARE still SOLICITING for them to contact you PRIVATELY, where are you posting those names??? You have made offers that lead only to COMMERCIAL BOOK SALES when following your directions , according to comments of numerous researchers. If you have received offers by volunteers they should be accessible to the interested researchers to whom those individuals meant the offer to help, so -- put them out where they can be seen as easily as your promise to list them!!!

    2. Pat Connors
    3. I have updated the Parish History Books webpages with over 50 more books, many with lookup volunteers. If you submitted a book please check your entry for accuracy. If you find mistakes, please email me off list. You will notice that I have redesigned the site and broken the original webpage into four webpages because of the size. They are still arranged in alphabetic order of counties. You can access the webpages at the url below my name. At my homepage, you will find a navigation bar at the top, under Ireland, click on Ireland Books and this will take you to a webpage for the Ireland Books Discussion Mailing List. At the bottom of that page, you will find links for the Parish History Books. (If your browser, does not use the navigation bars, there is a work around, just click on "click here") The Parish History Books are something I didn't know existed until my first trip to Ireland in 1999. I was pleasantly surprised to find them because not only did they include the history of the area, some listed the censuses, the Griffith's Valuation and/or the Tithes for the parish. When I started this site a couple of years ago, people started volunteering to do lookups in the books since many are out of print. Now, people are starting to submit books relating to the country in general and not to one particular parish or area. If you have a book that is not listed, some counties are pretty sparse in listings, use the convenient form at the bottom of the webpage. It is your choice, of course, on whether you care to volunteer to do lookups in the book. Also, if you have a book that is listed without a lookup volunteer and you would like to volunteer, please email me off list and I'll be sure to add you on my next revision. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com Professional Genealogy Research All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton 2002

    1. [DONEGAL] Reginald (aka Roger) McDade
    2. Mike and Eileen Tormey
    3. As we end this year, I would like to put out a request for suggestions as how to locate where a relative died. My uncle, Reginald (aka Roger) Joseph Lynch McDade was born in Glasgow Scotland on 24 Dec 1924. His parents were Hugh McDade of Letterkenney Ireland and Eileen Lynch of Limerick Ireland. Family legend has it that Reggie died shortly after WWII in a motorcycle accident in London. This past year, I came in contact with a third cousin who was also researching the family. His mother, my grandfather's niece, remembered not where he died but that he was in fact married (his wife came from either Australia or New Zealand) and they had children. With the help of British Ancestry, I have been able to locate lots of family information in Scotland and they research death notices in London and Reggie's death was not found. It is my hope for the new year to find this lost relative and that someone my have the ability to look up notices for Ireland, Australia and New Zealand to see if I might find some information and/or suggestions as to where to turn to next. Good wishes for a Happy New Year to all. Eileen Sullivan Tormey/Marlborough MA Researching: Sullivan, Collin, Birchall and Casey from Skibbereen, Cty Cork; Lynch and Curle from Cty Limerick; and McDade, McClay and O'Donnell from Letterkenny, Cty Donegal.

    1. Re: [DONEGAL] DONEGAL Flax List Tithes HASSARD
    2. Thank you Robert Doragh for the material you sent us. We momentarily forgot the century involved and thought these might include the family members from whom we descend, but quickly realized these a re 100 years too late for ours, tho apparently same names and numerous land s we think were in our line a century before. These records we'll preserve tho' as conceivably may help someway in eventual differentiation amongst the earlier generations' exact connections. Will keep seeking and if those families are of personal interest to you or others there, will post any new, either certain or tentative info we might unearth! Thanks again, Ann

Don't hold your breath. Hope you find your family if it starts with "A" Good hunting and have a great day Bob Cdn.

    1. Re: [DONEGAL] Carn and Templecarne
    2. Your quick reply is full of help and we surely appreciate it. Will explore all of those web sources which should show us much about locating the names of places, and hopefully help us in tracking down likely locations of surnames we have even if the earlier records are largely lost. We visited in 1985, enjoying a lengthy but quick tour of many Counties but then had no details about our various lines, and obtained only general maps at that time, and no real understanding of geographic jurisdiction system, so your forwarded addresses will be valuable as we try to envision our ancestral homeplaces.Thank you so much!! Ann
