Thanks to everyone who answered, I'm glad I didn't open it - pays to be suspicious at times. I also checked with my e-mail provider and they verified I wasn't cut off. I have also now installed McAfee Virus Scan, Personal Firewall and Spamkiller. For the first time in a long while I received spam free e-mail, the Spamkiller caught 26 spam e-mails. Beth

Hello Beth, There are viruses being sent round at the moment which are hidden in attachments. The covering emails seem to be official, from banks and so on. Some of them threaten to cut off your ISP. Anyone sending an attachment will mention it in the header or the body of the email so delete the email if you don't recognise the sender. If you think you know the sender but the body of the email doesn't mention an attachment delete the email. This is probably a virus. Delete it or if you are really very daring right click on the attachment and save it to your disc on a particular folder you note. In the past few days I have had three messages from http://www.co.uk the wording as follows:- 1&2. "Some of our clients complained about the spam outgoing from your e-mail account. Do not open the attachement - it contains a virus. These messages are generated by an infected computer and are attempting to get you to infect yourself! Delete the messages and the attachment. For Carol Deckers: I have a bit of info about a John Broadley, but, as with others that I just read in the Digest version of the list, it's definately not in the time frame you're looking for. But, in the event that you do locate an earlier generation of the branch that you're looking for, this might possibly be of help, too. I hope so...I always more or less leave no stone unturned...no telling what's underneath any of them! Here's what I do have: My ancestor, George FAIRBANK I, b ca 1528 @ Halifax, Yorkshire, England, marr. twice and I've found nothing that tell me which marriage was his first. One marriage was to Sibell/Sybell WADE/WAD. She died 21 May 1573, in childbirth. Apparently she was buried the same day, in Halifax, England. George Fairbank's other wife was Jenet/Janet/Johanna Maud BRODLYE/BROADLEY, the widow of John BROADLEY, when she marr Geaorge Fairbank. And to the Person who should sow in like Manner any Quantity of like Land, not less than 5 Acres, a Loom, or Wheels, Reels, or Hatchells to the Value of 50 shillings, and for every 5 Acres over and above the first five a like Premium."
