Would anyone on the list know where I could purchase a copy of the Ordnance Survey Memoirs for Co. Donegal, Vol 39? It seems to be out of print and I have been unable to locate a used copy. OR maybe sks could scan the portion on Taughboyne Parish and email it to me!? Thanks! Barbara Braswell

I have updated the Ireland books section of my website. There are now two parts, parish history books and all other books pertaining to Ireland. This month books were added to all sections along with many new lookup volunteers. Since many books, especially the Parish History books are out of print so the lookup volunteers are being very unselfish with their time to help others and many thanks go to them for helping to make this website such an wonderful resource for Ireland family researchers. Those who submitted books this month, please check your entries for accuracy, since I do make mistakes. You can access the pages by going to the URL below my name. On my homepage, at the top, under Ireland, click on Ireland Books. This will take you to the Ireland Books Discussion Mailing List website. At the bottom of that webpage, under "Ireland Book Websites", you will find the links. If you have books that you would like to submit or if you would like to volunteer to do lookups, please use the convenient forms at the bottom of all the book webpages. I update the sites each month and will add your books with the next update. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton

Rosalie at [email protected] writes: << Could someone tell me where to find a good site that has a map of Donegal showing parishes and or townlands. >> Rosalie, I've got a listof "Favorities" for a half-dozen townland map URLs.........but something has happened to the links of several of them. The only one which seems to still work is:> http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~donegal/townlandmaps.htm <. I think that's one of Lindel's sites. But it only has townland maps for a dozen of the civil parishes. I thought I had more. Of course, I have paper maps showing all of the townland boundaries (in all of the 26 counties, by the way), but that doesn't help those who are interested in finding them on the web. If I can make some of my other links work, I'll let you know. Pete Schermerhorn, in the glorious Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts

Hi Could someone tell me where to find a good site that has a map of Donegal showing parishes and or townlands. It would be good to find where the places are in relation to each other. Thanks Rosalie

Fellow genealogists, Have you ever used the Internet to learn about genealogy methods and resources? Taken a genealogy course online? Read some 'how to' articles? Then I would like to hear from you. I am an Australian Ph.D. student who is currently writing a book chapter for an academic Virtual Learning Environment publication - my chapter is about using the Internet for genealogical education. I would therefore love to hear from you, fellow genealogists, about any Internet-based content you've used for genealogy education. This includes online courses (free or fee), how-to's, articles/columns, newsgroups, BBS, chat, mailing lists, forums, or even personal web pages that publish learning material - anything online that helps you in learning the craft of genealogy. Your comments on the following is of utmost interest: What are your favourite learning outlets on the Internet? How often do you use them? Can or did you find what you needed online? What are your learning successes? What could be better? What do you look for in genealogical learning on the Internet? If you would like to participate, your comments are extremely welcome. Please send your comments to me directly at [email protected] before Saturday 1st May 2004. I thank you in advance for your participation in this academic research. Kylie Veale P.S.
