Hi, I am new to this list and I am trying to trace my Gt-Grandparent families in Ireland and I am wondering if anyone has them on their family tree. My Gt-Grandfather was Daniel Martin born about 1809 and married Bridget Hollans/Holland (I do not have the date) and moved to Kelso, Scotland in 1842 with their 2 year old son John Martin (my Grandfather) another son Daniel was born in Kelso in 1848. Both Daniel & Bridget died in Kelso in the 1870's. Gt-Gt-Grandparents were John Martin married to Rose Dempsey & Barnett Hollans/Holland married Janet Coultney, I am not sure what part of Ireland but could be Co Donegal, Co. Monaghan or Co. Cavan. Also would anyone know what part of Ireland the 87th. Army Regiment would have been in the early 1800's. If anyone can make a connection to this family I would like to hear from you. Scottie Martin Southington, Ct U.S.A.

James Cascadden, with wife Margaret Lowry, left County Donegal, Ireland and moved to Lotbiniere County, Quebec, Canada about 1835. They had ten children. Five were born in Ireland, and five were born in Quebec, Canada (probably in Lotbiniere County). They attended a Methodist Church in Megantic County, Quebec. Am interested in information about this family. Thank you for any and all help. John Mountain
Virginia, Hello from Down Under, we are new to this mailing list in our search for McGEE history in Donegal. Is there a possibility that there has been a recording error - there is a parish in Donegal called "TEMPLECRONE" ( which is similar !! ) This parish covers the areas around Dungloe, Glenties. Good luck in your search - I hope that we can get some assistance as well from the list. regards Jim Melbourne, Australia (GO Aussies) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Virginia L. I've been long researching the name MURRAY in Campsie, Stirlingshire, Scotland. The line I'm interested in came from Donegal in about 1846 according to the death record of Rachael MORROW whose family became MURRAYs. It was noted on her death Registration that she was born Killymard, Ireland and was 49 years old when she died in 1855. All her children were named which was a boon to my research on this family. I've recently found a MURRAY who was in Campsie who listed his birthplace in the 1901 Census as Donegal. His name was David MURRAY, head, married, age 56, a Chemical Works Labourer born Donegal, Ireland. Catherine [DEVLIN] was his wife, age -5 [line obscures first digit] also born Donegal, Ireland. I'd hoped his parents would be Edward MORROW and Rachel MORROW [married name same as maiden name] but David's parents were David MURRAY and Helen McCORMACK who were deceased at the 1923 death of son David in Campsie. He was the widower of Catherine DEVLIN [meaning she pre-deceased him], he died April 14, 1923 at 1 Well Lane, Lennoxtown, Campsie, Stirlingshire aged 79y of Senile Decay. Informant was Wm HANNIGAN, Son-in-law. The 1901 Census hit also had his family as Sarah, age -5 [line obscures first digit] born Lennnoxtown, Stirlingshire. David, son, 20 born same, Michael DEVLIN, 49, Brother in law born Stirlingshire and Denis McCAHILL, 8, Grandson born Stirlingshire, Lennoxtown. Sorry its not the line I wanted, but this man belongs to someone.... Meg Greenwood / Oklahoma USA

By the way, Templemore parishes (both RC and C of I) are in Derry, not Donegal. In a Boston Directory of 1870 my ancestors appear under the name McCallian. In an 1885 Directory the name is McCallion. In other documents (Census 1850/60 and marriage certificates the name is either McHallan, McHallen and on their headstone it is McHallam. When searching in Ireland for their origins should I focus on McCallian?
