    1. HANLON Dungloe
    2. Steve Jones
    3. Hi everyone! Still looking for any details on the Hanlon family from Dungloe. The parents were Patrick HANLON and Catherine Elizabeth DUDGEON. Their burials are listed on the Donegal site. Catherine lived to be very old - 101 yrs and died 1909 and Patrick died 1889. Some of their children immigrated to Queensland Australia. Thomas William Hanlon in 1860s James William Edgar Hanlon and George Grant Clinton Hanlon in 1874 and possibly a cousin, Elizabeth Hanlon whose parents were Moses Hanlon and Jane Hunter. It would seem that Patrick Hanlon and Catherine Dudgeon married about 1830s. All the known children of this couple: Sam (ran a hotel in Dungloe and remained in the area). Thomas William born about 1844 George Grant Clinton born 27 Oct 1853 Dungloe Donegal James William Edgar born about 1850 or 1856 (89yrs in 1945) Marion (Mrs George Buffington) Margery (Mrs Gold) Christine Mrs John Cave Mrs Eber Slade Anyone with any connections - would love to hear from you. Best wishes, Judy Jones. Steve, Judy, Samuel and Brett Jones Brisbane, Australia mailto:[email protected] visit us on the web at http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/sajones/xmas/frame.htm

    2. Roberta Kavalchuk
    3. Hello I am new to the list and was wondering if anyone is searching this name. I am not sure if my grandmother was born in Ireland or not but she may have been born in Donegal. There is a birth of a Mary Jane Eames in Donegal with parents William Eames and Eliza Roonian Eames. in Nov. 1879. I would like more information on this birth to either rule it out if it is not the correct one.Or if anyone would have access to marriage records to see the parents names of William or his birth place this would help me pin it down. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Roberta in Canada.

    3. Does anyone have any further information about the ealry years of Elizabeth Gibbons (my 2 x great grandmother)? She was born in Donegal around 1834 to a father James who was a farmer. At sometime she moved to Leigh in Lancashire where she met my 2 x great grandfather Isaac Grundy. They married in 1863 in St Joseph's RC Church in Leigh and had my great grandfather David in 1864. In later censuses she puts her occupation as a milliner. I'd love to know where exactly she was born, who her mother was, did she have brothers and sisters, when she emigrated to England and with whom. Did her father die in Lancashire or Ireland (he was deceased at the time of her marriage). 3. Hi Folks I am very interested in the Gallaghers in Donegal. I am researching the family of Dave (David) Gallagher (Gallaher as it became in New Zealand) who came from the Ramelton area before his immediate family migrated to NZ. He became captain of the first NZ All Blacks team that toured UK in 1905-06. His relations in NZ are also researching the family and one especially, Kay Carter, has done a lot of excellent work on the family. I am at the University of Ulster in Belfast but am in NZ temporarily until early January and could look up my records then. Dave's father married a Maria/Mary McLoskey. 3. I have updated the Irish books section of my website with new books and lookup volunteers. Many on the list visited Ireland over the Summer and probably brought home a new book or two. If you are like me, you needed to buy a new bag to carry them all home :-) Maybe some new parish history books have been published that is not included in the Parish History books section. So, check out the books listed and if you find you have books that are not listed, you can use the convenient form on the bottom of each page to submit them. I will then include your book with my next update. Of course, you need not be a lookup volunteer, if you list a book. Thanks to all who have made this website so successful. You can find the links at the bottom of this page: http://www.connorsgenealogy.com/books/ Also, if you find a book that you might like to buy, on this page are many bookstore links, many located in Ireland. -- Pat Connors, Sacramento CA http://www.connorsgenealogy.com All outgoing mail virus free, scanned by Norton

    1. Reunion software
    2. eile
    3. I have found a problem with how Reunion handles images when creating web family cards. Maybe someone else has dealt with this and found a good workaround. I have several large, wide JPG files of census records. In reunion, you can load the image and view it in detail, using the % setting and the scroll bars. But when it's converted to html, all that you get is what was visible on-screen in reunion. You get no scroll bars in the html view, so the html image is useless for something like a census record. Is there a way around this? (not including copying the original JPG over the cropped one that reunion makes) Or is there a better program out there? Thanks. best, Paul Carr
