You might try to ring them for starts. GoldenPages.com is the Ireland phone book. There is a different one for NI and I have misplaced the website but you can find it with a search.

    3. I haven't done anything with my Coyle line for a while. My great grandfather became an orphan at the age of 9, Thomas. I'm not sure what happened to his brothers who I found via birth records in Ireland. My ggfather moved to Boston at the age of 20 by himself. I was able to find a bit more information on his brother's family via the 1901 census but just don't want to do next. I was hoping to locate his family over there, but I'm stumped. Any suggestions? 2. Pastor Deuer
    3. Dear listers: For me it was a nice surprise to find a branch of my family in Donegal. In a document named "Census of Inishowen Barony, 1659", I found out that O'Deuer was among the "principal Irish names", and that in Donnegal there were 8 persons with that name. Does anyone know WHERE would I found more information regarding to this census and, if possible, the name of these people? In the Mormons site, I found some information of members of the family in Ireland, BUT without the "O'"; so, seems to be that some moment they dropped the "O'" to use only DEUER. Do you know why would that happen?? Any information or comment, would be highly appreciated, because until now I always thought that my name was German, and it is very interesting to know that there exists, also, an Irish branch. Best regards Pastor DEUER [email protected] _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Información de Estados Unidos y América Latina, en Yahoo! Noticias. Thanks ever so much for the information, I will have a look at your links when I finish work today. I am an Engineering Manager working in the utilities sector for a large multi national company in central Scotland. I live in a town called Bo'ness which is on the shores of the Firth of Forth near the road & rail bridges. I have always been interested in where I came from and as a small child I was very close to my granddad who always told me lots of fabulous stories. I got married (for the second time) last June to a wonderful woman called Rhona, I have tried to included a couple of pictures of the wedding but they will not allow me to send to this address. I would be delighted if you could forward me some pictures of the Donegal Drummonds. My GG/Grandad was listed as being born in Donegal in the 1891 Glasgow census so I am fairly sure he was from this area. Can I ask what is your connection with the Drummond family and where do you live? I kept some info about Drummond as I came across it because of having met some from my husbands area. I want to warn you though that the names I gave you were all written in a little notebook with just a few notes and although that trip tweaked my interest in genealogy research I wasn't doing any nor was I taking very good notes! I know there are other Drummonds settled in the area and in Fermanagh and Tyrone And I am sure you could find them all over Ireland. I found 663 names in the LDS familysearch.org site in the International Index by querying with the name Drummond and the location British Isles and the Country Ireland. The largest group was in Antrim. Why are you searching in Donegal? Do you have a bit of history to send you there. If so, there aren't that many Donegal Drummonds listed so maybe you have hit on the right family. If you don't know for sure where, I would try to find some way to narrow it down or you could have a fun but lengthy search. Regarding records. There are next to none. There are church christening records and marriage records from about 1856 for the Ballyshannon area. You could probably view the tapes by going to an LDS center near wherever you live after you figure out what tapes to ask for. Some of that you can do on line if you have never used the LDS site. 3. Judith, I am astounded!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your reply, it is far more than I ever dreamed of receiving. I am fairly sure there must be a connection as the names you mention are all listed in my tree fairly early after Patrick died. Patrick lived in an area around Glasgow's Gallowgate and died aged 55 in 1896 leaving my G/Grandfather fatherless aged 5. Patrick had three sons Joseph, Edward and (George my G Grandfather) from his second marriage to Mary Fay (this is the line that I descend from) He was first married to a Catherine Loney but I have no details of this marriage except that she died aged 35. Unfortunately I do not have a death certificate so he could have been married in Ireland first and then moved to Glasgow after his first wife died. Can you recommend the best way to research my family in Donegal? All advice very gratefully received. 3. List Members, Posted this info for general interest, I have no connection to this organization just looking for lost family. *__* Received the "Welcome to Pensear.org" brochure, it would appear that this will be a valuable finding aid in tracing lost persons. Granted it will be limited to those who applied for a Old Age Pension in 1908 and limited to NIrl at this time, they state that the records from Irl are being addressed. This will be will give us another road to look at, sadly it will not aid in my search since my people departed during the mid 1850 period. URL: http://www.pensear.org/main.html Below are the opening paragraphs from their brochure. *_What is Pensear_*? "Our researchers have taken the Irish Pension Records which are stored on microfilm and produced a database of all entries. Pensear works by allowing you to search this database using the surname you are currently researching. You decide yourself which records look relevant and pay for only those. These microfilms are available to researchers however they are very difficult to read, are not indexed and are in no particular order so finding what you are looking for can be very time consuming and frustrating. All entries were hand written and in many cases were written in pencil, so some words or letters had faded before being transferred to microfilm. Our researchers when transcribing the films have made no attempt to correct spelling mistakes nor have they tried to amend anything that may not make sense. They have tried as much as possible to show all information contained on each search record. When they were in any doubt about whether or not they were reading a particularly untidy or faded record correctly they have put a question mark. A question mark has also been used when it was impossible to read." "*_The county I am looking for is not there._* Our researchers have transcribed over 80% of these records and these are available right now on our database to help in your search. Only the province of Ulster ie. Antrim, Armagh, Donegal, Down, Fermanagh, Londonderry & Tyrone will be available. One microfilm may contain a small number of entries relating to southern counties. The Pension Records for the southern counties are not held in the same place as the Ulster records and have not been stored on microfilm, however permission is currently being sought to transcribe these records from the original books. More information on how and where these records are stored will follow in our 1^st quarterly bulletin."

    3. Judith, Very many thanks for the reply. I have searched extensively in Scotland and have had a great time visiting various sites mostly in and around Glasgow. As you will probably know Drummond is a Scottish name and they are predominately of protestant descent, my family are catholic so this is unusual and has helped me rule people in or out quite quickly. My search has come to a shuddering halt as the main four streams of my family are all of Irish descent. The names are: Drummond O'Neill McMullen Kelly I am only really interested in the Drummond stream at the moment. The only real information that I have is from the 1891 census in Glasgow that states my GG Grandfather (Patrick Drummond) was born in Donegal and was a shoemaker, his father was listed as William Drummond on Patrick's marriage certificate but I now think that he may have been Patrick William or William Patrick. I suspect that he too is from Donegal but I do not have any supporting information. I am very much at the start of my Irish search and would appreciate any help or advice that you could give me. There are two Ballynaman townlands in Donegal. One is in Kilteevoge civil parish, a mile NW of Commeen village (or about 5 or 6 miles between SE and ESE of Fintown village). The other Ballynaman is in Donaghmore civil parish, a mile and a half SSW of Killygordon (or 3 miles SE of Stranorlar town).
