    3. Hi, Can someone please help me? In tithes applotments & in Killaloe RC church records Aherina is listed as townland. In Griffiths there is no townland Aherina. Does anyone know what it was renamed or was it merged with another townland? Regards Brenda, Melbourne.

    3. Hi, Brenda, According to the Clare Library website (link below), Aherina had split and changed spelling, too, by 1842 to straddle two civil parishes, Killokennedy and O'Briensbridge. Look for Aharinabeg and Aharinamore in the alphabetical index you'll find at this link. Click on the townland name for more information about that place, including occupants at Griffith's and the 1901 census. http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/places/townlands/townland1.htm Cheers! and good luck!
