Hi Fellow Researchers, I was wondering if there is any discussion or plan to have the Birth, Marriage and Death Registration Index of Ireland transcribed so it is available on a web site. Perhaps something similar to FreeBMD for England. This seems to be a resource that is not readily available, especially to those who live on the other side of the world. Just a thought. Regards Jan Vernon Sydney, Australia
Wow, Jan, get out of my head. I was only thinking that this morning. I must say the thought of that is daunting but...not outside the realm of possiblity. (first time I ever had an Australian in my head, I have to say that!). I've been working at my "real job" this week but will catch up this weekend on the list. There have been many good posts this week that I'm looking forward to reading.
