It was my understanding that LDS was digitizing their records and putting it on their website. The last time I was at our local FHC they said the project was completed and LDS was just needing the permission from all the areas involved to put THEIR records on LDS site. I dont know if the information that I had received was correct or not. I was also told that LDS was not going to charge for access to their site either. I can not imagine that the original holders of the BMD records would be quite that willing to hand over to LDS the permission to post. Many of these areas use it as a means of making money and to promote tourism. I had also heard there was a question abt. legal rights to this information and the posting it for general public. Currently "Privacy Issues" are not well defined. Debbie
