Another consideration with these indexes is the fact that, with you still get a name-only listing so you still need to deal with which of three-five-or more Patrick Hogans in the 1868 deaths for Clare might be the right one. Also, transcription errors are common, and very likely someone is going to order the wrong record because even just one number is off in the entry info as transcribed. I did pay the fee at the Registrar's Office in Dublin and copied out all the death index listings for my various surnames. I have yet to order records for any of them. It has not been needed for my research.     3. My apologies for the double posting just now, and really bad typing recently. I need to get a new computer, which will be soon I think. I have totally screwed up the Outloook program in my current one. My workaround for that is sending out messages before thorough proofreading. I will try harder in the interim.
