My transcription of the 1824 register of "C" surnames in the Barony of Bunratty is now online at: http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/don_tran/freeholders_bunratty_c_1824.htm I hope this is a good way to thank everyone who offered advice on how to transfer mycomputer files (of which this was one) over to my new computer. I did use the Xdrive upload-and-download method, which was sufficiently swift and easy that I could finish the C spreadsheet, sent last evening to the Clare Library. Maureen Comber just emailed me that it is now online. This is the largest of the surnames which I transcribed for that year, but I do have some additional surnames to do. I kept the spellings just as I had in my notes, which were done in pencil back in 1998 or 2004 (can't remember which trip), per the requirements of the Archives. Pencil does not permit my best writing. I did see a "Marham" which is undoubtedly Markham but I kept it the way the records had it. I think all the surnames are very recognizable, although the placenames are another matter. In any case, comparing the men in this database to the ones listed at the same places just one/two years later in the Tithe Applotment may yield some interesting results. Sharon Carberry USA
