    3. Glenys, I'm a genealogy tutor, so I prefer to teach people how and where to look, rather than do the lookup. In your case I've made an exception, but please look at the records for yourself to confirm. Assisted Immigration Indexes at PRO VIC show arrived in 1857 via "Maldon". So your assumed 1854 arrival looks to have been derived from other records. Submitted trees on Ancestry show he married Hannah Ryan in 1859, but apart from parent names, nobody has traced his origins. There are two possible sources, shipping records on microfilm at Vic State Archives or purchasing a copy of his marriage certificate. A quick look at the occurrences of the Hannon surname in 1901 shows under 100 individuals in Clare. You might find some in post 1864 civil registrations, but the problem will be linking them to Thomas. There are only two listed in Tithe Applotments around 1840, but these list don't include everybody. Peter
