Many thanks for all your effort Peter. I have all the information for Thomas HANNON and Hannah RYAN after they both arrived in Victoria. They are my GGrandparents. It's just back in Ireland that I don't know about. I've never done any research in Ireland, and it's unfamiliar territory for me. I appreciate your help. Griffith's Valuation was done in Ireland about the time Thomas emigrated and lists most heads of households. You can search the index here--http://failteromhat.com/griffiths.php and look for Hannons and Floods in Clare. Unfortunately, they're in parishes scattered across the county. Glenys, This is the problem. You don't have proof of where they came from or how they got here. And you're going to need those precise details before you start searching in Ireland. It's not like Australia were you only have six states and one central record office in each. You're going to need County, Parish and Townland. The place to start is in Victoria with immigration records and the marriage certificate. Peter
