    3. Good Morning Peter Many Thanks for your email, I have covered those resources but there are one or two that I haven't looked at for a while and as new info is always arriving I will dig deeper but here is where I am coming from, You will see from my earlier entry that Patrick Rochford and Mary Hennessy married in Tulla in 1829. They had 11 children baptised in the Catholic church in Tulla. There are still Rochford descendants living in Tulla, and the family legend is that the family migrated to the USA about 1845/50 however, three of the children, Jane, Bridget and Catherine arrived in Australia in the 1860's and it seems certain that at least Johanna did go to America and married there. For many years I have tried to locate the rest of the family, did they go to America and settle there, did some remain in Ireland?? did some of the boys marry in Ireland and so on. My hope is that someone connected to this family will see my entry on the Clare website and get in touch all the best Patrick

    3. Patrick, There is always hope of finding a relative on the list. For some reason I see this more rarely on Irish lists than on say US lists. But I do see people finding a relative who may have gone off in a different direction. My sister in law found her grandmother's brother's descendants in England. He had gone to America and then returned to Ireland. Later he went to England to live. The English family had a photo that would not have been found if she hadn't located this man's descendants online. Anyway, welcome to the list. :) Christina List admin Patrick Callaghan wrote: > Good Morning Peter > Many Thanks for your email, I have covered those resources but there are one > or two that I haven't looked at for a while and > as new info is always arriving I will dig deeper but here is where I am > coming from, <snip>

    3. Patrick, The problem is see with requests looking just for relatives is that they exclude 99% of the people on the list who would otherwise be able to help. I think it's far better to provide what you know and then people can try to fill some of the missing bits. And it doesn't have to be a novel. All you need is the children's names, birth year, who, when and where they married, and where and when they died. You say Bridget arrived in Australia with her sisters. That needs exact location and shipping details which are available online. In fact, there is a tree on Ancestry that says Bridget went to USA, married Patrick Cudmore had 7 children and died 1898 in Washington DC. Who is right and who is wrong? I'll leave it to you to explore. Peter
