    3. Thank you all so much for your help!  I'm relieved to have found this group as I'm only about a week into looking for my Irish family.   I also located my g-grandfather Patrick Considine as residing with the Cornelius Murray family which explains the tight bond later with Thomas Murray (the Jesuit priest who married my parents) and cousins.  I'm assuming Ellis Island had Patrick's age wrong (25 in 1905) as both the 1905 and 1920 census both have his being born abt. 1877. Hopefully they were correct with Kilrush as that is the only lead I have for his hometown, except verbally that they were from County Clare. I'm also beginning with the premise that Bridget/Delia/Stella was born in Kilrush or close by. Found a Patrick Considine, age 24, unmarried son of James and Ellen Considine in Fountain, Ennis Rural Clare, not Kilrush. (http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Clare/Ennis_Rural/Fountain/1069149/) No married Stella, Delia or Bridget Considine on Ellis Island search. Found a Bridget McNamara from 'Ireland' arriving May 6, 1895, age 18, going to New York. Doesn't say if married. Went through the 1901 Irish Census looking for Stella (none), Delia, Bridget(McNamara/Considine) and Patt, Patrick (Considine) with various spellings of last names. Found several in the 21-24 age group, but none in Kilrush. The only one that is a maybe is: Delia F. McNamara, Kilkee Town, part of (Dough) not married, age 22, industrial worker. Kilkee is close to Kilrush and I know one of my Irish cousins lived in Kilkee. I also know 'Bridget' was a 'nurse', at least in her later years. I will send away for the marriage cert and hopefully that will clear some things up.   What is your educated opinion of the Bridget/Delia/Stella thing? Is this common? What does 'nil' mean in the census? The more I learn, the more confused (but determined) I feel. Yikes... You've used Ellis Island, 1905 & 1910 US census, and NJ christenings. I looked at 1920 US Census.     And every record has some little twist. Is it Stella, Delia or Bridget? What were the right birth years of children? It just proves you can't rely on only one source. They all need to be cross checked.     I don't know if it gets any easier in Ireland. I've left it to Patricia to find them in 1901 census and hopefully follow up parents in 1911. She should also look at for births in Irish Civil Registrations on Family Search.     Hopefully, she'll keep us informed on results.     Peter ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to IRL-CLARE-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
