    3. Tony: I have O'Laughlins/O'Loughlins who moved from Co. Clare to the US (to New York state, then Minnesota and Wisconsin). Michael O'Laughlin was reportedly b. Sept 1828 in Co.Clare, possibly in Dalyschench P.O., Bodyke. His father was Patrick; name of mother unknown. The person who wrote down Michael's birthplace was not too reliable. But I feel sure he came from Clare because the 1860 U.S. Census for New York State says he and his first wife Ellen Torpy were both born in Co. Clare. --that is the only census I have found that gives the county in Ireland where someone was born. 3. Hi Kate, I think that you have a big job ahead of you. There are over 200 O'Loughlin entries and about 50 Torpey ones in the 1855 Clare Griffiths Valuation. You will need some good leads to narrow down the field. Good luck, Tony ............................................................................................................................................. > Tony: > > I have O'Laughlins/O'Loughlins who moved from Co.
