    3. Peter~       This is just an idea.  Limerick was not and still is not that far from Ennis County Clare.  They may have gone to Limerick seeking employment, residing there until their emigration.  That may have been actually from Limerick City or they could have gone to Cobh.  My gg & g paternal grandparents in the 1860s lived in Smithstown Barony Lower Bunratty & Ennis Town.  My g grandmother at age 16 worked in Limerick City; met and married my g grandfather there.  However, 2 yrs. later she delivered their first child in Ennis Town.  Oral history always had my g grandmother's origins as Limerick.  It was not until I started researching sacramental and Civil records began that we realized the actual origins for the family were County Clare.  You might try Clare Library & other places in that county, not Limerick.   Mary Ellen Chambers Researching DALY, FITZPATRICK, TOWNSEND in County Clare >________________________________ > From: Peter R Booth <pbo08596@bigpond.net.au> >To: IRL-CLARE-L@rootsweb.com >Sent: Monday, May 13, 2013 4:35 AM >Subject: [IRL-CLARE] Michael HEGARTY & Catherine GLEESON - married c1853 > > >    The above couple arrived in Sydney in 1854 as Assisted Immigrants aboard "Columbia".
