    3. Hi Patrick, I have a small bit of County Clare Ratchford/Rochford information that may be of interest to you. Mary b.c.1810 Unknown Co. Clare; m. John Griffin b.c.1805 Unknown Ireland. I assume they were married in Co. Clare. I have the 1860 Illinois census showing John & Mary living in Chicago with their 5 Irish born children, the youngest b.c.1848. In this same 1860 census and living in the same neighborhood is John and Mary's daughter Margaret b.c.1830's m. to James Mason (brother to my gr. grandfather) b.1833 Parteen, Co. Clare, Ireland. With James & Margaret is their daughter Mary b.c.1858. I have more information for both the Griffin and Mason children; however, no marriage record for James Mason/Margaret Griffin nor birth record for daughter Mary. I believe this these two families may have been in NY before coming to Chicago. Note: one of the Griffin daughters, Bridget b.c. 1842, was married to Thomas Purcell of Co. Clare. Should you see a connection or would like more information, I'd be happy to share.
