What type of Irish History do you reference;; actual fact History or Fiction versions? For fiction type, Thomas Flanagan's trilogy - Year of the French (1798 Rebellion in Mayo), Tenant of Time (Parnell), and End of the Hunt re: Michael Collins & 1916 Uprising. Last 2 have many of the same characters. There is all of Morgan Llywelyn's novels which start with the Bard, pre Brian Boru to 1949 (re : Irish Free State and becoming a republic. Many such series are out there. One of my most favorite Novels by Leon Uris - Trinity and also it's sequel. Non Fiction All of Tim Pat Coogan's books on more current Irish History. The Flowering of Ireland by Katharine Scherman, The Irish World (The art and Culture of the Irish people, Ireland, A Terrible Beauty by Leon Uris and so many many more. Sitting in our Den, behind me is a wall to ceiling built-in bookcase with numerous fiction and historical books re: Ireland. The story of Ireland is never-ending. Good reading. Mary Ellen Chambers
