    3. My thoughts are vague on this info and it will take a little digging to find out when the following occurred. Some of our Crotty family records that we thought should be registered at St Senan, Kilrush were actually recorded in the Kilkee church records. Maybe you need to broaden the search to neighboring churches of St Senan. Bernice Hassett

    3. Hi Bernice, Thanks for your advice. The Kilkee and Kilydysart records look as if they could be worth a try. I was also interested in your Crotty reference. Two of my great great grandparents were Timothy BYRNE and Margaret CROTTY. I found the baptisms of some of their children in the Kilrush records (one of the witnesses was Honorah CROTTY) and they were listed as living at Glin/The Glin. I believe that they may have been the family of Timothy BYRNE and his seven dependants evicted in October 1848. I also believe that one of their daughters, Joanna (1842-1927) was living with, and related to, John CROTTY and his family at Lissinaire, Kilmihil, at the time of the 1901 census. The only Crotty in Lissinaire on the Griffith's Valuation in 1855 was Michael CROTTY. It seems possible that he was a brother, or some relation, of my great great grandmother Margaret CROTTY. Does any of this suggest any link with your Crottys?
