Dear Co Clare List I'm looking for the birth or baptism of Mary Clare TYNAN or TYNAM thought to have been born in Co Clare around 1867. Her father was Michael TYNAN or TYNAM and her mother was Hannah LYNCH. Michael TYNAN may have been in the Army in 1851 aged 18 years, and may have still been in the Army at the time Mary was born, or he may have been employed elsewhere. Many thanks Jennifer Bantow Geelong Australia
Jennifer, There's nothing in Post 1864 Civil Registrations on Family Search. I wonder about your data sources and what else you might know about the family? How do you come to Clare? Is it a reliable source? Where were parents born and married?. Were there other children? If they migrated, those records might provide valuable data, as could death records. With so few Irish records on offer, you have to gather every little clue from wherever there is data. Peter in Sydney
Hi Jennifer, Have you looked at family search? There is a Gertrude born to Michael Tynan & Hannah Lynch in Dublin in 1868. Aah - haa, I questioned the location of Clare? Perhaps I should have said there was no Mary Tynan born in Clare 1860 - 1870. Finding Gertrude Tynan b1868 in Dublin raises further doubts. Just shows the benefit of different search techniques. I searched for Mary, Brenda did a parent search. Peter
