Death records are the least reliable because the person giving the information may be confused or simply not know something. Perhaps Mary's father came from Clare and so her husband misspoke. I pretty sure the family was Roman Catholic. I had found Stanilaus b 1860 Dublin, Josephine b 1864 Dublin, Gertrude b 1868 Dublin, all probably siblings of Mary, with the same parents. The death certificate of Mary Clare in Australia gives her birthplace as Co Clare Ireland. The informant was her husband Richard BOLTON Thanks for your help.
