Listers, I any connections to my wife's great grandfather, John Torpey, came from County Clare and settled in Chicago. I have no census data from Chicago. I believe they lived around 35th & Halsted area. I do know that the maiden named of the woman he married and later divorced was Donoghue - no forename is known at this time. That is basically all the information I have on him. I do not have any dates of birth or time when he emigrated. I know this is very limited information, to say the least. He had one daughter, Sarah, my wife's grandmother, and 3 sons - Timothy, Joseph, and William. Sarah died on 13 December 1956. I checked the LDS site, but those Johns and Sarahs do not appear to be the correct ones.
