The following new source of Irish maps has just been flagged to me: http://www.irishhistoricmaps.ie/historic/ It was mentioned in an article in the Boston Globe at http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2006/08/29/online_map_archive_an_i rish_genealogists_pot_of_gold/ A caveat for the Clare listers: before shelling out your EUR 5.00 per day for maps from the Ordnance Survey site, do check whether the map you want isn't already available and free of charge in the extensive and exquisitely browseable collection at www.clarelibrary.ie The old hands already know about that resource but I just thought I'd mention it for newcomers to Clare family history and local history.
