"John Hickey, Kilbourn City; was born in County Clare, Ireland, about 1829; he came to the United States in 1856; went to Canada, where he remained one year; then returned to Ireland, but came back to the United States in 1866; he was in New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana for a few months; thence to St. Louis, and thence to Kilbourn City Aug. 28, 1866, which he has considered his home since that time.
