Thank you Sharon!!! But I do not think that this John is mine. There is a John who came and went from Ireland, but I do not think he ever married. He died in Ireland. His father was Martin. Now Martin's father was Bartholomew Scanlan, but I have forgotten his wife's name right now [darn!]. That computer with the family history is down right now. My uncle Bernard before he died told me to be careful, as there were 4 Bartholomew Scanlan's in the area. No relations as I understand. My Batt's wife's name was something very unusual, as Nancy :O )))))) = laugh! I know that it was not Ellen! My Bernard said that he could find very few names of siblings, as they left for say the States and nary a word back. Maybe they could not read or write or had no time [interest] to do so.
