Constable m'Clutchey, of the Doonbeg station, has been returned by the Surgeon of the Forge unfit for further service, in consequence of an injury to the knee, recieved while in charge of Liscannor station. Sub-Inspectors Kidd, Ennistymon and Stuart, Killaloe, are to assemble on the 24th instant at Tulla, to hold a court of inquiry on Constable Alloway of the Feakle station. Clare Journal 22 July 1886 Attack on the Police On Monday evening a collision took place between some Militia men and civillians on the Clare Road, immediately outside the town of Ennis, and when Constables O'Gorman and O'Shea appeared on the scene and endeavoured to seperate the combatants, they were brutally assaulted and might have lost their lives, but for the timely presence of three mounted constables, who were riding out for excercize and happened to go in that direction. It appeared that Constables O'Gorman was on duty in Jail Street, at 6 o'clock, pm ; ......... running towards Constables O'Gorman to strike him when the three mounted police road up.
