It would appear that the wife of Head-Constable Cosgrave, in that town, actuated by some unnatural motive during the temporary absence of her husband from barracks, cut the throats of her two sons - one about four years, and the other about 9 months old - after which the unfortunate woman attempted to cut her own throat also; in this she failed, having become too much exhausted, and was discovered only when the horrible deed was past remedy in the case of the children. From the evidence adduced on the inquest, it appears that it was a frightful and deliberate act, and one which, for the sake of the unhappy criminal, we trust may be found the result of insanity. Thomas Walsh, Esq., Coroner, empannelled a jury on Thursday, foe investigating the case, but, in the absence of Dr. Lynch, who attended the unfortunate woman, the enquiry was adjourned until Saturday.- Galway Vin.
