Irish World and American Industrial Liberator, (New York, NY) April 23, 1898; pg. 6 "After an active life of 103 years, Mrs. Bridget Dugan of Buffalo, N,Y,, passed away at the home of her son, Thomas Dugan, at 55 Columbia street, April 15, and by her death Buffalo loses probably its oldest resident. Mrs. Dugan had spent many years of her useful life in the city of Buffalo, where she reared a large family...The funeral was held from her late home...to St. Joseph Cathedral. She was born in Clare County, Ireland, in 1798. In her 59th year she emigrated from Ireland to his country, coming direct to Buffalo, and had lived there for the past forty-four years, most of the time with her daughter, Mrs. William Downs, who had formerly lived on South Cedar street, but who died six months ago. Since then she had resided with her granddaughter, Mrs. Dennis Crowe, at 55 Columbia street. Mrs. Dugan's son is 85 years old."
