Information sought on PATRICK MICHAEL CARROLL of Abbeyview, Clarecastle, Co. Clare. Born at Abbeyview in January 1856. Son of William Carroll and Catherine Ryan. Baptised at Clarecastle R.C. Church on 27 January 1856, sponsors: James Hickey and Bridget Ryan. He attended school in Clarecastle. Family lore has it that he left for the U.S.A. and all contact has been lost. The last reference to him was in his father's will of 1889 - "to my son Patrick who is in America". In the Boston Passenger Lists - 1820 - 1943, I have found a Patrick M. Carroll who departed from Queenstown, Ireland and Liverpool, England on the ship Cephalonia, arriving in Boston on 16 September 1887. The entry gives his age at 30 and estimated birth year as abt 1857. This could well be the man that I am seeking and I would welcome any advice on how to further the search in the U.S.A.
