Oh, Helen, I have such uncommon names, as Ireland ~~ Scanlan/Scanlon, Sheedy, Connor/O'Connor, Mahon, Homin USA ~~ Jones, Watts, Sheedy, Scanlan, Cass, others France ~~ one from France, do not remember the spelling ~~ 1600's to 1700's And all these people are in generations that are far apart. The Jones did not believe in keeping records. Lots of fun to keep one busy and maybe out of trouble. Yes, the Sheedy is related to McNamara. Sheedy comes from the word for silk. Thanks. My Sheedy's were in Lisnafaha. I have pictures of the last of the Sheedy's to live there. I have an addy from a woman who married one of the Sheedys. What I find so interesting is that I think I know so little and my father said so little and I have never been to Ireland and I live in California, but in some ways I know so much. In fact, from reading posts, I seem to know so much more than others. Oh, well.
