    3. Jeannie, I am a member of one of the branches of the St. John family that was present in Clare in the 19th century. The Inagh (Bauntlieve) William St. John is the only one to own land. However subsequent members of his family and close relatives did move to Miltown Malbay. John St. John is still there--we visited him and his father in 1994. There is a record of the baptism in 1866 of a William St. John son of a William St. John, M.D. and HELEN MARRINAN. It's not the same family as the other St. Johns as far as I can tell. No William around the age of 35 appears in the 1901 Census. However, in the 1901 Census for Miltown Malbay there is a Margaret Marrinan, 80 yrs old, widow a domestic servant on Chapel Rd in M.M.
