Thanks to "TLiewer", who did find "some" info, on my Carmody family in Middlesex, Eng. She may have found the exact birth records of Patrick and John Carmody sons of my great grandparents Denis and Johanna Carmody, both born in Cork. I am presently sending for the certificates. At last "may" have the maiden name of great grandmother. I can hardly contain myself over this "new" info! Most exciting info found since 2002! Part of a chunk of brick wall coming down. Of course my main goal over the years has been to find out just whee in Clare the Carmody families live in Clare, before moving to Cork. Altho in Griffiths and tithe list the names are found there seems to be a large gap in info as to who else was in the family, wives, children,etc. of the men who worked the land, and not owned it. Guess it is and will remain a complete mystery of sorts for many of us . I suspect my Carmody family lived in any of these areas, Tulla, Six Mile bridge,Kilkee, Kilrush, Ennis. Does anyone know how the main road coming into Ennis, Clare from Shannon airport, got it's name??? Where could I find that info, would the library have it? I did manage to get a picture of the sign by itself and one with me standing under it for posterity...on my trip to Ennis. Unfortunatly, I got ill while in Ennis and had to go back to hotel in Cork to rest. While in Cork, tho, did find a Sgt. Carmody working for Millstreet Gardia, he and his family came from Kerry, and we could find no match. Any info appreciated, thank you!
