Here's a link to the Irish Times that will help people wondering about the status of various parish records: http://www.irishtimes.com/ancestor/browse/counties/rcmaps/index.htm Just click on the county and then the parish. Shows filmed Kilkee records held by the Clare Heritage Center, LDS, and National Library in Ireland. (Records were filmed in the 1950s so parish staff wouldn't be inundated with genealogy requests.) Diane, Anyone researching in Clare or Ireland generally should bookmark that site. As for Clare, it looks like copies are generally held by both National Library of Ireland and Clare Heritage Centre, while some but not all were copied by LDS. Originals are still held locally but having provided copies, priests may be too busy with pastoral work to do lookups. The Clare Heritage Centre says commissioned research only. Has anyone used them? I believe it's quite expensive. Peter in Sydney
