Subject: Clare Roots on air A Chairde, Clare Roots Society is on air this Friday morning on two radio stations in Ennis/Clare and National Radio. Outside Ireland, you will be able to listen via your computers if the time suits by going to the sites below... for Australia, east coast, Ireland is 10 hours behind. Clare FM http://www.clare.fm/listen-live RTE http://www.rte.ie/radio/anfearceoil/ 1. Paddy Waldron and Gerry Kennedy are 'appearing' on the John Cooke Show on Clare FM to answer questions on the Census 2011 versus 1911. They were asked to be there at 9.30 am but have no idea when exactly they might be on. 2. Later, on the Pat Kenny Show 10 am to 12 noon, Valerie Cox, reporter, will use Bindon Street in Ennis to illustrate the wealth of detail that is available in the 1901 and 1911 Census. Valerie had been briefed by Catriona Crowe on Clare Roots and it was she that suggested to Valerie that she use Bindon Street as an example. Valerie spoke to a number of Clare Roots members as she walked the street. Contributors include Paddy Waldron, Eric Shaw and guest Oliver Moylan. Valerie taped over an hour of interviews but that this will probably be whittled down to a 5-minute slot when broadcast. She was highly impressed at the work of Clare Roots society!
