Hello, I'm attempting to trace my Layden and Behan ancestors from Co. Clare, Ireland. Austin Behan and his family were in the US by 1849, so they're out when attempting to look at Griffith's Valuations (my George Behan, likely Austin's nephew, should have still been in Ireland, but was only abt 12, & I'm not sure who his father was). However, my ancestor Michael Layden would have been very much alive, married with children in 1855. Michael was born abt 1810, his wife Mary, abt 1815. Anyway, to my question, I'm hoping someone knows about researching in one or more of these places: 1855 Griffiths: (Name, Townland, Parish, Union) Michael Layden, Kilbarron, Feakle, Scarriff Michael Leddane, Rahona East Carrigholt Village, Moyarta, Kilrush Michael Leydan, Sileshaun East, Inagh, Ennistimon Michael Leydin, Ballylaan, Kilmacrehy, Ennistimon Michael Liddane, Fintra Beg, Kilfarboy, Ennistimon Thomas [Michael] Liddane, Tullig, Kilballyowen, Kilrush I am most interested in two bolded ones, b/c a Thomas Leydin (1st) and a Thomas Liddane (2nd) was also listed in the same location, and Michael's only son (or at least only one to immigrate to the US with them) was named Thomas. My belief is Thomas was their youngest child (they had at least 4 daughters immigrate prior to 1868, who were older). Thomas appears to have been born abt 1848 based on census records. I would appreciate any input! This appears to be one of my most likely lines to trace back to Ireland (unlike my lineage of White, Tate, and O'Neill families who simply state "Ireland" as place of birth, lol). Katie Rennie
