Thanks to everyone with explaination of "ejectment books". Seems the missing books are the ones that have the information of John Pyne's ejectment of the land he was to take care of in Clare, near Kilrush. Since my Carmody family supposedly came from Clare to Cork then to Middlesex England, and both Carmody and Pyne were agricultural farmers I was hoping to find a connection to them in Clare area. Seems the only connection I now have documentation of is Pyne's daughter married my great-grandmothers, brother. All I ever knew was the Carmody's had bee in Clare for years before moving on to Cork , leaving the mystery alive!
Hi, I have somewhat of the same problem. My Tadgh Scanlan might have been one of the first evictees. According to some information and I received from a now deceased uncle, Tadgh may have come from another area into the Township where the Scanlan's lived for many generations. Current one do not care about family history!!!!! According to my father we were not related to the other Scanlan/Scanlon's in the area except by marriage. That marriage one I have found and will not go further there, no interest for me. And I have found that my family used both the Scanlan and the Scanlon forms of the name within the family!!!!!
