    3. Hello All I have taken over the running of the Corbett One Name Study and, as my Corbett ancestors were from Miltown Malbay, I am focusing my Irish information gathering on Clare. The family were Catholics, consequently vital records are sparse in the 19th century and the Church was prevented, by law from keeping them, beforehand. These I am gathering up to this period. (Here in England I can go back another 150 years as Catholic records can be found included in the Anglican registers) Civil records seem to be an huge untapped resource and are rarely referred too, let alone used, as has been said. I come across them occasionally and in trawling them do make tiny steps back. The Ejectment Books seem to fall into this category and I expect that they contain a wealth of raw data that would benefit the hundreds of my Corbett researchers, and everyone with ancestors who rented property. I would like to see them made available as scanned images, preferably; even on a pay to view basis, as a facsimile say held at Ennis to be accessed and copied, or as a transcript. I am sure that there would be many transcribers, willing to volunteer. I know that I would. The arrangements I would currently need to make to access these books and spend time going through them are practically insurmountable. So, if some kind soul would like to help me, or suggest a work around, I would be grateful. Gordon Corbett Corbett One Name Study GOONS Reg. 1016
