There are several of them in Ireland, however ......... four of them in Co. Meath alone. There's the one he mentioned, in Knockmark civil parish a couple of miles NW of Drumree village. There's a very picturesque Holy Well in this townland. And there's another Warrenstown just 4 to 5 miles due south of this first Warrenstown, in Culmullin civil parish. The third Meath Warrenstown is one to two miles NW of Dunboyne town, in Dunboyne civil parish. The last Meath Warrenstown is just a couple of miles to the north of number three, 2 miles east of Batterstown in Rathbeggan civil parish. There are two other Warrenstown listings in Ireland - both in Co. Kilkenny - but they are actually a single townland, with a civil parish line cutting through it. This Warrenstown is mostly in Fertagh CP but with a small piece in Erke civil parish. This townland includes the southern part of Johnstown small town in northwestern Co. Kilkenny. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Pete Schermerhorn, in the glorious Berkshire hills of western Massachusetts
Sorry if this is off list, but I have no idea where to go? Can anyone in Ireland identify a town that from what I can read says "Wrinstown, Ireland" as a place of birth on a 1939 NSW marriage certificate. Trying to see if a person by the name of BRIMSTONE is related to my existing connections in Australia. Many thanks in advance Maria Thomas LAKE MUNMORAH, NSW

My Roughans are from east Clare in the Parish of Kilnasoolagh, Townland Oumurkagh Fanellan which is near Newmarket-on-Fergus. I have found on the 1825 Tithe Applotment Book Corn's Roughan and John Roughan. Cornelius is my grgrgrandfather who was born here April 15, 1811. His father is also Cornelius and his mother is a Katherine McNamara. Cornelius emigrated to Gennesse County,New York. He embarked on the ship Brien at Limerick which sailed under Capt McFadden in April 1836. Cornelius moved to Racine, Wisconsin in 1841 and purchased land. On October 9, 1843 Cornelius married Katherine Shay who came from Limerick County, Ireland. There is also a Timothy Roughan who married Mary O'Neil in Newmarket-on-Fergus. Their oldest son John was born in 1849 in Ireland. They emigrated to Racine, Wisconsin in 1850. I believe Timothy is a brother to Cornelius. In the 1855 Griffith's Valuation John Rowhan is listed in Knocksaggart, Kilnasoolagh, Ennis. This is all I know about John so far. Maria

Mr. Dailey was educated in the Union school and in 1863 engaged in the grocery business, in which he continued several years. He then established business as a furniture dealer and undertaker, which is continued at the present time by Mrs. Dailey. In 1866 Mr. Dailey married Anna, daughter of Daniel and Rosanna Prindie, and five children survive. Anna, Catherine M., Elizabeth, Joseph and Monica. The death of Mr. Dailey, which occurred March 13, 1883, was a loss not only to his family, but to all who knew him, He was public spirited in the best sense of the word, and ever ready to contribute his efforts to the welfare of the community. The Tulla Parish Baptismal Register Jan. 1819 To March 28, 1846 1840 Sept. 21 "Anne. Pat Dolohunty. Bid Mac. Michl (Odea?). Bid (M)orony. Lis( )ty. [could be Lissycasey] This shows Anne Dolohunty, daughter of Pat Dolohunty and Biddy Mac. Her godparents were Michael (Odea?) and Bid (M)orony. The Dolohunty may have been resident in Lissycasey. These entries are very difficult to read and you need to examine the microfilm and make your own judgment.
