Well, poor Denis sniffs too much glue... My grandmother was Maryanne McHugh (Mother McGovern Tullyveela, Corlough) she was from Derrynananta Glan. They gave a cousin the house -- Bea Curry (nee McHugh,Moneensauran), alive and wonderful -- for taking care of their mother. OK, as usual it gets complicated...my grandma & Bea are both 1st and 2nd cousins. Their mothers (McGoverns) were sisters from Tullyveela, Corlough. Both of their fathers names were James McHugh -- they were cousins. (1 from Moneensauran & 1 from Derrynananta). I don't have McGuires -- remember glue destroys brain cells. Denis and I might actually be cousins. Living with my grandmother in the early 1900s was Owen Fitzpatrick. He was the illegitimate child of Anne McHugh and ???Fitzpatrick -- Denis' uncle is a priest in Dublin -- he got it for us. My aunt, who grew-up with him, is 95 and won't spill the beans. Its been Denis, his dad Tom and my mission for years now. Tom (about 70) said that there was bad blood between our family -- and now he thinks this may have been it. Aunt Cassie mistakenly said she knew Annie -- then denied when I found out about Owen. I found an Owen McHugh -- and was so excited because I thought it was him (changed last name) alas was not him but is a cousin of my grandmother and Cassie. Their sister Bea went there when she first arrived in NYC. I had Master Genealogist program for years but they kept upgrading until I was losing my mind and I changed to FTM. Denis' gedcom was on the other program -- you have no idea how many times I wish I could see his. OK, so finally Maguires are in Denis' family (dementia). My family is McHugh and McGovern. I remember seeing the Vesty name somewhere years ago... Best from chilly NYC! He claims we are cousins...he says you had an aunt Catherine, I believe, Maguire. Any idea who she was? According to Dennis, the Fitzpatrick's of Glangelvin can see my Grandsmother's farm from their side of the hill which over looks Lough Allen. I almost went up to his Uncle's (your's too I assume) when we were there a couple of years ago, but we were running late, so we passed by his driveway....maybe we will make it this year. Dennis seems to think the uncles knew my uncle Vesty fairly well....who knows! Do you happen to have any idea who the Maguire aunt is? I can't seem to get an answer out of Dennis... When the Uncle from Dublin was visiting Dennis' father a year or two ago, he was suppose the ask him about the family and any ties. Maybe I will have more luck with the "other Mo". ;-) Best from Boston, Maureen Maloney At 09:37 AM 2/15/2004, you wrote: >Opps!!! There's another Maureen!
