Hi Charlotte, Isn't research frustrating at times? The ship 'Elizabeth' arrived Port Phillip 23 July 1849 from London 17th March 1849. I have the dispersal list with Mary Ann on it, it doesn't give her age. I must have worked her age out with the age at he death and the year of arrival, making her about 19yrs. She was one of 40 young single woman on the voyage. She was coming to the employment of a Mrs Robinson of Elizabeth St Melbourne. Mary was married to James Hodgkinson on 4th Feb 1850 and a witness at that marriage was another of the single girls from the ship, Ann Macteer. I havent been able to find what happened to the Catherine Milligan who was also on the 'Elizabeth'. I dont think you will find much more than I have chgarlotte but wouldnt hurt to look.
