Dear List, First I would like to say how I appreciate the transcription of the newspapers, I read them all the time.I am looking for my PORTERS and there is many on there, but I don't know if they are mine or not. I found 2 on the IGI yesterday James PORTER Birth 20 Aug.1867 0410,Termon District, Cavan Ireland. Parents Joshua PORTER and Jane HARRISON. Batch No.C701323 Source Call No 0101151. no Printout call number His brother Joseph had the same parents but a different call number. I know the family was baptized at the Church of Virginia, but I have never been able to find out where they lived. Can I get birth certificate with only the batch number.? I know the Province,Barony,Townlands and Parish but not the District. Does any know where Termon District is ? Thankyou Jane, harold&jane@telus.net

From the Revised Edition of "Irish Records - Sources for Famiy and Local History" by James G. Ryan, Ph.D...published by Ancestry. Civil Parish: Gartan Map Grid: 14 RC Parish: Termon and Gartan Diocese: RA Earliest Record: b.1862; m.1862; d.1862 That is the only mention of "Termon," however, it is in County Donegal. There are 13 other references beginning with "Termon..." - none of which are in Cavan. Not sure this helps... but is what I found. Kay Stanton Daytona Beach, FL
