Nineteen-year-old Mary Reilly ,a Laundress from Ballyconnell ,Cavan ,Ireland , was aboard the ship ' Wallasea ' , bound for Sydney , New South Wales ,Australia , in 1865. She appeared to have travelled alone or at least unaccompanied by any other Reilly. I would like to learn something of Mary's background , including her birth , her family , and her place of work...... Would her being a Laundress mean that she necessarily worked at a Laundry or could it mean that shemay have worked as household domestic staff ? How can I proceed ?
