    3. Hi Listers, You may remember me trying to find James and Mary WEBSTER nee Murray and their daughter Hannah. And all the toes I stepped on trying to find them. Sorry if I offended anyone. Well I am finally on their trail. James WEBSTER was believed to be born in Scotland around 1840. For months I went down that track. I had been told by my father in law that James was born in Scotland and that he was a bridge builder.....he was born in Killeshandra, Ireland (c) 1853 and he was a saddler. But unfortunately none of the WEBSTER family are alive for me to ask them again. Very frustrating. James and Mary WEBSTER arrived in Hobart, Tasmania. Australia in 1882 with a daughter Hannah WEBSTER and in 1883 a son Alexander was born in Hobart. Tasmania. Hannah, I now find from her Marriage Certificate was born in Tralee, Ireland. James's wife was Mary Frances MURRAY and from the records I suspect, her parents were Peter and Hannah MURRAY - from whence they came I do not know. They are named as her parents on her Death Certificate. James, Mary, Hannah and Alexander moved to Sydney only 2 years after they arrived in Hobart. A son Peter was born in 1887in Sydney. Alexander died in 1887 in Sydney age 4. In 1888 a son James died but there is no record anywhere of his birth and 1889 another son William was born and died in the same year as his birth. James WEBSTER died on 28th November, 1894 age 41, just 11 years after arriving in Australia. Mary WEBSTER nee Murray died on 9th February, 1922 age 66. I have located the gravesite of James and Mary Webster in the Old Presbyterian Section of Rookwood Cemetery in Sydney. NSW. Upon enquiring as to the exact position of it in the Cemetery I was told that Hannah's ashes are buried in the same gravesite. I was absolutely elated. Hannah died in 1967. The same year as my son Peter was born. The eldest son of the eldest son in each generation were/are James, Peter, Peter, Peter Murray, Peter Murray and Peter Thomas. My son has 5 boys and some of them have Peter, Murray, James and Alexander in their names (Alexander was the Irish born James's father). And my son knew nothing much about any of the Ancestors names. I know I have been like a dog at a bone but it is certainly worth it. It may not seem a very difficult job that I have had to do and quite a trivial thing to talk about, but to me I am over the moon. I can't wait now to get Mary's Death Certificate to see where she was born and confirm who her parents are. So keep on keeping on and you will succeed. Best of Luck to All. And a big thankyou to the people who helped me by making suggestions as to where I might find my WEBSTERS. Hilda Cooper formerly Webster, Sydney, NSW. Australia

Well done Hilda it is both time consuming but rewarding finding your family tree, especially when you faced adversity from a lister. However, I too have a GG grandmother born in Ireland but all her NSW death certificate states was born in County Cavan Ireland and the parents were listed as unknown - the death information is only as good as the informant. It seems that once our ancestors left there homeland that was the end of their links, I hope your death certificate is more helpful than mine. Enjoy your research Elizabeth >From hot and humid Queensland

    3. Thanks Elizabeth, My Mum died in 1948 and I didn't start my own FUDGE Family Tree until about 2000. Since then, and with the help of my cousin Garry we can go back to 1692. So there has to be some light at the end of the tunnel. Keep at it. Good Luck.
