    1. Re: [IRL-CAVAN] Bailieborough birth

Mother is Sarah, father unknown because mother Sarah came to the US after husband died. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Karen Ann Blackwell's birth date certainly predates the keeping of civil records. One possibility chance is to find someone who can check church records for baptisms or registrations of births--if you know which denomination. Some of us have found the Cavan Research Centre to be very helpful; that web site is _http://www.irish-roots.net/cavan.asp_ (http://www.irish-roots.net/cavan.asp) . Be prepared for some months for the Centre to start going on your file; very busy, but do a good job. There is a Genuki web site which seems well maintained and provides links to other sites: _http://www.sierratel.com/colinf/genuki/CAV/index.html_ (http://www.sierratel.com/colinf/genuki/CAV/index.html) If you are just starting Irish research, you might also have a look at the LDS Family History web site, go to the Library, and check the Catalog for location Bailieborough in County Cavan _http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/default.asp_ (http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/default.asp) . That has been useful. Records in Cavan are irregular for various reasons--this takes tenacity. Regards. Dan Wagner ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
