There is an index to Griffith's Original Valuation online that you can search by surname and County. I entered just "Hew" under partial surname, to get all possible spellings. (You also might play with it.) There is no Francis Hewit(t) in Cavan listed, but this is not a census. It just is a very large list of land occupiers in Ireland c. 1856-7.
