Hello Don, I had a relative, Robert Shannon who married a Kate (Catherine) McGovern in Sydney in 1877. I checked the BMD in Australia for her birth but cannot be sure that she was born here. I am 83 years old now and although we often visited Auntie Shannon (Kate McGovern)and I remember her well, I cant recall any early details. Under separate email I will send you my notes on Robert Shannon who married Kate McGovern. There were so many McGoverns who came to Australia (and in Ireland)that I cannot sort them at all. I did note that many Shannon people were also shown in Griffiths Valuations.
